Silver Lining Mentoring is currently in need of dedicated, caring adults to become Life Skills Mentors to youth who have experience in foster care.

You don’t need a special background to be a mentor, just a desire to be a supportive, consistent presence to a young person.

Mentors are required to commit to 12 months of service. For the first 12 weeks, mentors support a young person in a one to one relationship in which mentees develop life skills through structured reflection groups. Upon completing the reflection groups, mentors and mentees meet in a community based mentoring model in which they expand on the life skills learned.

Become a Life Skills Mentor to a young person 16 or older who is preparing to age out of the foster care system.  You will support a young person as they learn critical life skills (including financial literacy, employment, educational progression) and when mentees demonstrate their learning, they have the opportunity to earn and save money that Silver Lining Mentoring then matches dollar for dollar, enabling young people to build financial assets!   Your commitment, can help us build a whole community of supports around our youth. Join us for an Info Session to learn how you can become a Silver Lining Mentor now:
